Invisalign is an advanced method for straightening one’s teeth without the use of wire braces. Traditionally, wire braces are used to correct teeth and jaw alignment issues. The concern with traditional braces is that it is often difficult to wear and maintain without intensive home and in office care.
The Invisalign method of aligning teeth involves wearing custom made aligners or trays that apply gentle pressure on the teeth and gradually move them over time. Each custom made aligner is designed on a 3D computer simulation that precisely move the teeth. The aligners are made of clear BPA-free plastic and are removed prior to eating, brushing and flossing. For best results, the aligners are to be worn a minimum of 22 hours per day.
WHAT IS THE COST?
As each case is unique, it is often difficult to give a standardized fee without a proper assessment. The cost of an ongoing Invisalign case depends on the severity of crowding or spacing, the patient’s age etc and the number of aligners needed to achieve the results. The price however is comparable to traditional braces.
Dental insurance plans cover Invisalign in the same manner as conventional braces. Payment plans can be arranged if there is no coverage for it.
