We typically get patients asking how long the dental implant process takes.  Typically start-finish, the process can take anywhere from 3-6 months depending on the region of the mouth, the condition of the previous tooth and whether any bone grafting or augmentation procedures are needed.  Advances in dental implant procedures also allow for a process called immediate dental implants which are implants that are placed at the same time of tooth removal. This speeds up the recovery time as no second surgery is needed and costs are often less.

The patient can wear a temporary denture until the crown is placed on the dental implant.
